Sudden (like, last 2 weeks) increase in the number of men visiting beauty salons for facials? Why?

The beauty salon where I work has been getting loads of guys coming in for facials over the last two weeks or so.

Up until the end of last month, I'd say I got maybe 1 guy a week having a facial. Then it suddenly jumped to 4 or 5 per *day*.

Does anyone know of a reason for such a sudden increase? Has it been featured on a TV show or something?

The weird thing is that a lot these new guys have obviously never had a facial before and seem to think it should involve the beauty therapist (me) sitting on their face. Needless to say, that has not been a common request up 'til now :)Sudden (like, last 2 weeks) increase in the number of men visiting beauty salons for facials? Why?
Maybe it's Valentines Day. Or, maybe there's a new gal in town? Or, maybe, they see something they're not suppose to and taking advantage? Or, maybe they're just as vain as women? hehehehehe Whatever it is, be thankful. Man, I do need a facial! Where is this place?!? :)Sudden (like, last 2 weeks) increase in the number of men visiting beauty salons for facials? Why?
valentines day .. maybe
Guys now like clear skin.
To beat the girls' monopoly in this area.
yea thats what i thought as soon as i read the question, its because of valentine's day, guys want to impress so they look to be at their best, oo tht ryhmes =D
Definitely has to be a result of Valentine's Day. All of the men want to look good for that special someone. Can you blame them? At least you get more business!
looks like they're getting ready for valentines day, go down to the ';blue oyster'; club and maybe get lucky????

Egg whites con firm the skin and tighten pores, giving the appearance of a smoother, softer complexion. Whip two egg whites together, apply to the face and let dry, then wash off with water.

Baking soda is alkaline and can remove dead skin cells without damaging the skin. Massage a baking soda paste, made from 1 tbsp. of baking soda and a drizzle of water, onto the skin for 30 seconds, then rinse off with water.

Lemon juice is highly acidic, and can help increase cell turnover on the skin, which can reveal a fresh, youthful complexion. Apply undiluted lemon juice onto the face after washing.

Oatmeal, when applied to the skin in a mask, has a string anti-inflammatory effect on the skin. Mix 1/2 cup of oatmeal with one cup of hot water, let cool, then apply to the skin After 10 minutes, rinse off with water.

Steaming the face help allow the pores to release impurities, aiding in maintaining a blemish-free complexion. Fill a bowl with hot water, and lean 12 inches over the bowl with a towel over the head for 15 minutes.Beauty Tips- Home Recipe Facials, Etc.?
i tried the baking soda and it tightned my face really nicely but it made my zits red Report Abuse

Way back in time, in the ancient Greek and Roman civilizations, women used to apply Olive Oil onto their skin!

Here is what you can do: in a small bowl, put some Olive Oil (organic works best). Make sure, however, you don't put too much! Then grab a small towel, and wet it in hot water. Once you do this, you can start applying the olive oil anywhere on your skin. Put the hot towel on the part of the skin you applyed olive oil in, and rest for a couple minutes.

    :) Hope this helps.
mix up a raw egg and put it on ur face. it works!

i think men are more concerned now about aging. for me as a example i use daily facial creams hoping to avoid some unwanted wrinkles. i will also watch tv shows that will explain the uses of different products and healthy diet and exercises.i think you are seeing the modern day vain man as women have always been.Is there any reason for a recent sudden increase in the number of men visiting beauty salons for facials?
i noticed too, think guys are living up to the stigma of society how to look good ect. Who can say that advertising does not work
It's becoming mroe socially acceotable without people laughing
Must be global warming...or solar flares.
I think they had a feature on skin care in Maxim.
lol. so ure havin fun or do u wana get rid of them?
More men are admitting it on TV. More women are dragging men to salons and they find they like it.

Now lets work on those pedicures.

did you get an incredibly pretty employee at this salon?

Please recommend a good beauty salon in South Bombay for regular stuff like waxing, pedicure, facials?

Bombay beauty parlor, located in Parei, just ask anybody, they'll know. they also wax ur car.

How many women enjoy facials..not the beauty parlor sort?

well, enjoying it and doing it for their man is two different things. I doubt that any girl in the world actually enjoys the taste of semen, let alone it being all over her face. But some will do it because they know that their man enjoys doing it to them. Now if the fact that their man enjoys it brings them joy is a different topic all together. How many women enjoy facials..not the beauty parlor sort?
To get a number you need figuresand not the numeric kind. I personally think that you may find more thirsty women that are clean freaks then women looking for a cure for acne! Meanwhile why don't you take a personal survey so we will know. How many women enjoy facials..not the beauty parlor sort?
Who doesnt enjoy a facial? Are you talking more of a medical facial? If so many women enjoy them and especially the after effects
if its what i think then...i love it ,its good for the skin...:D
    ...........not that many, i'd say......
    Very few. If any.
My experience has been that it's an occasional thing. Right mood, right time. The man being considerate of eyes, nose, hair.
well frnkly most men like women who dont care abt make up much

Ladies how do you feel about men going to beauty salons for facials etc.?

    I think it's a very good thing.

For so many years guys have not felt like they could do anything tactile, like that, to destress and relax.

Skin contact can sooth more than anything else for people. Relax those muscles, and that's great for appearance and circulation. And guys have muscles that need to relax, and improve circulation too!

My husband was a telephone lineman. So he took very good care of himself, he climbed without any bucket.

He looked and felt great, but his face had it hard sometimes. I would look into his face and see dirt that had become impacted in the pores.

This happens alot with blue collar type guys, especially, cause they are exposed to more industrially.

And they don't have time to realize that simple washing with a washcloth won't fix this.

They simply don't have the available resourses at home that women usually do to take care of it?

Why should men have to suffer like this?Ladies how do you feel about men going to beauty salons for facials etc.?
Just fine. Glad to see you.Ladies how do you feel about men going to beauty salons for facials etc.?

    men should look natural
i think it's adorable that a man isn't afraid to go into a beauty salon to get a facial and meet girls.
i think men like women should do every thing they can to keep there complection in good shape
They are right. They must also take care of their skin
its abit gay but if your ego is that big that you need to be prettied up all the time then go ahead.
I like a man to be a man's man but a little bit of grooming is admirable also. You know looking neat %26amp; tidy.
    Woozies!
ha ha! is that a joke... oh soz dint see your name Ding Dong!! only kiddin... yup i think you blokes shud do dat more often then youll be able to see the amount of hassle and pain girls go through just to look beautiful for u blokes out there... after all that many gyals dont even get a bludy compliment.... jesus! bless...
A terrible indictment on the decline of proper values. Men are no longer men. They are women with different genitals. These metrosexual types should be laughed out of town. Mincing around salons to have their nails done and flanels put on their faces. Poofs from first to last.
    each to their own....
All for it, I love to give facials, and mens skin is just as in need as womens, plus what a stress reducer!
There's absolutely nothing wrong with that
It's a good thing because it shows that they care about what they look like and they aren't like a slob.
    good
I think it is good that some guys really appreciate what they look like. I have seen some men that desperately need to look in a mirror a little more. But I don't think it is ok for them to go too often, like once every other week--I don't even do that.

Do you have any quirky facial features like dimples, cleft chin, gap teeth, roman nose, beauty marks etc etc...

i have a little bit of a cleft chin, it runs in my family and small crescent moon shaped dimples, you?? :)Do you have any quirky facial features like dimples, cleft chin, gap teeth, roman nose, beauty marks etc etc...
i have a giant gap in my front teethDo you have any quirky facial features like dimples, cleft chin, gap teeth, roman nose, beauty marks etc etc...
I have a nipple on my forehead haha kidding but I do have dimples, Do you still love me.
Beauty marks galore...*just went to mirror to count* and I have 12 on my face--I have the Monroe and several around my eyes and on my left check. I also have small dimples. I used to have a small gap in my front teeth that I could whistle through, but that went away with braces. I also have a roman nose--but I don't like it. WOW! I guess my face most be really quirky then.
I have dimples, I have a small scar on my upper lip from a car wreck, and I have a small scar from a ground ball that took a bad hop and caught me under the right eye.
everyone says that i have a baby face. i dont know what that means or even if that answers your question. but its my face and your question asked about faces.
Gap teeth lol. But it's not a big deal really...

And I only have dimples on the right side of my cheeks. Haha.
    Yes..

I have a small scar on my bottom lip from an accident I had a few years ago.

[I also have a scar on the inside of my lip where I had to get stitches].

I have a small scar just above my left eyelid, I don't know how it got there. It isn't very noticable.

I have three beauty marks around my right eye.
My face is partly paralysed, I had Bells Palsy many years ago and it left the right side of my face partly paralysed. I`ve learned to live with it now, at first I had to drink from a straw and could`nt eat from a spoon, I`ve overcome it now !
I have a cleft chin, dimples, and high cheekbones.
I have a little white birthmark in the center of my bottom lip. I have a scar under my bottom lip from where I used to have a labret piercing and a scar on my left eyebrow from an old piercing as well.
Dimples in both cheeks and in my chin, slight overbite, and a smaller version of Barbara Streisand's nose. Sounds like quite a mess, but people find me uniquely adorable. :-)

Where in cebu can i find a beauty treatment center like marie-france or facial care centre exept affordable?

There are a number of spa treatment centers in Cebu. For facials, manicures, pedicures, hair styling, waxing, etc. you can go to Salon de Rose at Ayala Center in Cebu City. Alternatively for a higher end spa experience I was personally very impressed with Meddah Spa at Crossroads (Banilad).

Crossroads has a number of high end restaurants and a private room Karaoke spot called K1. I would highly recommend it.Where in cebu can i find a beauty treatment center like marie-france or facial care centre exept affordable?

Beauty Salon Facials do they give results?

    Hi Folks

Having just turned 30 im concerned that my skin is beginning to show the years of late nights and too much beer! I have been thinking for sometime about going for a monthly facial and then maintaning it with the products they use. Does anyone currently do this does it work? I dont just want to spend the money for the sake of it if im not going to get results. My problem areas are a few fine lines around my eyes dark circles and the odd spot.

Help!!!Beauty Salon Facials do they give results?
Oh I would LOVE to get a facial every month! If you go to a good aesthetician, you will see a fabulous difference in your skin with regular facials. Also dermabrasion is wonderful way to exfoliate. I try to have a good facial with the change of every season. Yes, it really can make a difference. Enjoy and I'm jealous!! *-*Beauty Salon Facials do they give results?
yes, treat yourself facials are great
Without a doubt they help - but you can help yourself at home by moisturising properly. And by that I don't mean just dolloping on some oil of ulay every morning and night. Buy vitamin e oil from superdrug or somewhere (about 99p) and use it to massage your face and neck upwards and outwards. Spend about 10 mins doing this every night b4 bed. Follow up with your normal moisturiser, using the same upwards and outwards strokes. You DO NOT need expensive creams - it is the method of applying, and doing it regularly - get into a routine.
Definitely. I'm only just 23 and I have regular peels and that to prevent my skin aging.

They fully clean your skin out and the therapist will also steam your face which will bring out any impurities.

But the most important thing is they put back in moisture which will help keep your skin looking young.
Beauty Salon Facials are good, but they can be expensive. I don't know where you're based, but many beauty counters in department stores will give you a facial, with the cost being redeemable against products. For example, Clarins do a mini-facial for c. 拢15, and you can then get 拢15 of products. I think this is probably the cheapest way of doing it...
Treat yourself to one, with a consultation, and see how much better your skin feels and looks! I try to have a professional facial as often as I can, but maintain the regime at home, with regular face masques, good cleansing etc. My skin is so much better now than it has ever been. I would highly recommend them, but make sure you are comfortable with the products they use, and the price of the upkeep, as it can be expensive.
There are so many product麓s on the market, which one to choose, and the facial thing, make麓s you feel good for the day , I don麓t have the problem with line麓s or wrinkles, when I take my bra off all the wrinkles disappear
yes i suggest you get one done they will do a consult with you and determine the best solution for your skin type/age etc. and also its nice to do something relaxing for yourself and your skin!
yes, its brill i do it all da time

Should I quit or should I keep trying?A'm a Indipendent Beauty Consultant for Mary kay.Today I got a facial and nobody show up.?
That will happen, you just need to keep trying. Write down the list of the 25 people that you know who you could ask to do a facial so that you get more experience or host a party even better. I have had this problem myself, you just have to keep going....remember anything worth having is worth working for. Once you build your customer list it will go easier. Try going to your Weekly Meetings they give you lots of ideas and lots of encouragement. Good luck, from a fellow consultant.A'm a Indipendent Beauty Consultant for Mary kay.Today I got a facial and nobody show up.?
Try offering your services at a Nursing home or Seniors living housing. Look for groups that you can go in too. It worked for my friend.
Mary Kay is a scam. Very few actually succeed at it, unless they are remarkable salesmen that honestly like Mary Kay. My sisters, who are both ambitious and successful, tried to take it up as a side hobby, but it turned out to be a hassle they weren't prepared for.
    Keep Trying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep trying. It happened with me once too, don't give up!
I agree with the person right above me. Mary Kay is designed to make the rich richer. It is not for the regular people that work full time and are trying to get ahead. You can never get anywhere doing Mary Kay. Plus, they tell you how to dress and act. That is a cult!
keep trying - make sure you put the word out well for your facial/makeup parties. call people the day before to remind them. let everyone know there will be prizes, food and beverages.

perserverance - will take you anywhere!
    Definetly keep trying!
Keep trying! Don't let one incident stop you.
keep trying, there is good money to be made in the Mary Kay businnes, if the people didnt come to you, then you should go to them. Mary kay is a really good brand alot of people enjoy using it..including me! Hang in there!

Poll for the Ladies: Are facials a regular part of your beauty regimen?

    Christmas is coming up and I'm wondering how many of my lady friends would enjoy receiving one in the form of a gift card. (-;

Thanks for adding to my poll about gift options. Poll for the Ladies: Are facials a regular part of your beauty regimen?
My girlfriend loves facials , its a bit messy but she really enjoys it and so do i !!!Poll for the Ladies: Are facials a regular part of your beauty regimen?
No, but they are nice things to experience, they are quite expensive and I've only ever had too, I love the feeling of the creams and lotions rubbed into my skin, the pleasant music in the background and the mist that is sprayed into the air, its sleep inducing to the max. :D
i've never bothered with having one done, i just slap a hot washrag on my face for a good steam ; ) i suppose some women would be happy to get one though. or maybe a ';general'; gift card to a place that does that sort of thing, so if they'd rather get something else there, they can.
They are not part of mine. I have only had 2 facials in my lifetime. Both times the next day it looked like I was visited by the ';zit'; fairie! I normally do not have any zits, quite ironic I think. However, I do applaude the kind thought for your lady friends.
I've only had one, but it was very relaxing and I'd have it done again if I got a gift card, in fact, thanks for the good idea, I'm going to use them as gifts for some of my friends too!
Why spend a lot of money on elaborate facials when all the key ingredients are close at hand?

Hence - the term , ';mud in your eyes'; works for me, I can just mix up the paste and plaster it .
I LOVE facials but I've only had one of them done professionally! It's SO relaxing. The way they massage your face! AH! Just thinking about it is making me want to get one! I put face masks on at home about once a week or so! Gotta clean that crap out of your face!!
I wish I had time for one. I think if I was given one as a gift though I would really like it. It's just not something I would buy for myself. So I think it's a good idea.
    no!

like i can be bothered :)

    wake up...

    get ready.

    go out :)

    no facial, cucumber s/hit.
    *hums innocently*
A salon facial or a bedroom facial?
Not really but I wouldn't mind getting a gift card for one
I'll be offering free facials to all my female Contacts this year.
No but it would be a nice thing to get and I would use it.////
    no, they are not!!!
    i've never had a facial
I'll pass, I accidentally received a pearl contact lens once. ;)

  • I had a facial massage in a beauty salon. Is there a way I can give myself one at home?

yes you can go to: http://books.google.comI had a facial massage in a beauty salon. Is there a way I can give myself one at home?
sure. you can use cucumber paste and dry it for 15 minutes. you will feel fresh. then, you can also apply curd and gram flour paste and wash it after 20 minutes. this will make you fairer. scrub your face with flour if you have oily skin, it will open the pores and oil will get lessened. papaya peel can make you feel fresh too. try turmuric powder as antiseptic. give this a try. you will like it for sure.I had a facial massage in a beauty salon. Is there a way I can give myself one at home?
its easy u can do it at home , just need a moisturiser, some rose watter, a scrub , an astringent , a face pack, steam and something to remove blackhead (cud be the black head removing strip)...
Incorrect technique can actualy break down collagen fibers in your skin. Instead of massaging your face, stick to using good products.
yeah its very simple keep your face moister at the time of facial because its a catalyst to take the reaction good and apply your sources
    yes you can do it

I fall asleep and snore during beauty treatments such as massages & facials. Should I be embarrasssed??

When I get beauty treatments done, I like to be relaxed. I don't plan to fall asleep but thats what happens. Take the other day, my roommates %26amp; I went for pedicures. I close my eyes and get relaxed (that's what I remember). They tell me once I fall asleep my mouth pops open %26amp; I start snoring really loud. (I am a mouth breather who snores). They say the serene peaceful environment has been invaded by a SNORING LOUD GROWLING BEAR!!! They say people laugh at me, get angry due to all the noise. I'm not trying to be insenstive, but I've paid my money, so what with the sound?? Do you agree?? Shouldn't I be left alone?

    1. Have you ever seen someone sleep %26amp; snore during beauty treatments (patrons, massage therapists, etc.)

    2. If a massage therapist, etc., did you finish the treatment or pretend you did?

    3. What would your reaction to the snoring be? (patron, massage therapist?I fall asleep and snore during beauty treatments such as massages %26amp; facials. Should I be embarrasssed??
No you shouldn't feel embarrassed. This is expected and one of the best compliments. It means you trust your therapist, you are comfortable, you are relaxed and when you wake, you will be rejuvenated.

As a massage therapist I never quit a treatment because they fell asleep. It can be felt when they wake, they will feel off balance (one leg is more relaxed than the other, etc).

If someone began snoring, I would just smile. It's cute when you are a therapist, as opposed to being a wife trying to sleep next to a snorer. ;) Hope that helps.I fall asleep and snore during beauty treatments such as massages %26amp; facials. Should I be embarrasssed??
I think you should feel deeply sorry for the person massaging you. You should feeel extremely sorry and embarrassed.

Alot of my clients fall asleep during their massage. This tells me they are very stressed, and I provide not only a great massage, but a comfortable enviorment for them to relax in. Now, during beauty treatments, i haven't seen too many clients nap, but yes it does happen on rare occasion. For the sake of others around you, i'd say get a little more sleep. Its o.k. to enjoy what your recieving, but if its really loud snoring, this may create a negative enviorment for the other customers.

prfereablly after your periods. This helps you relaxws and freshWhen should I have beauty treatments like waxing or facials?
I would recommend that these be carried out well in advance of your wedding day, especially if you have never had them before. Facials are designed to encourage impurities to come out of your skin, so you may find that up to a month after the treatment these impurities are still working their way out of your system. With waxing you may develop small pimples to the area treated, especially if the area is on your face, or you may react to the product, so a trial run well in advance of your wedding is essential and the actual treatment itself should take place a few days before the big day.
waxing at the age of 16-17 years but facial after 22 only
now, you ug for britain...almost as good as jade goody
    AFTER 20.
    above 20
it depends on your skin type....u can begin waxing from age 15 onwards as there is an increase in growth of hair when you reach puberty...the skin by this time is also a lil tough not as sensitive so u can start tht....well facial truly depends on the kind of skin you have...if u have a lot of acne problem u shud not get ur face waxed but can go for facial...else homemade beauty masks made from besan, curd, fruit peels etc can be applied at any age..they are harmless!!
    15 - 16
Waxing you can stop after 35 because no will pay attention anywaz ...and facial you can start at the age of 45 bec thatz when all the wrinkles pop up

Definitely has to be a result of Valentine's Day. All of the men want to look good for that special someone. Can you blame them? At least you get more business!

    Very few. If any.

Does Facial Structure even matter in looks? Beauty?

I Doubt it, half the guys that chicks like around here have no structure or chin. And this is purely on looks, because they saw omg look at that guy. And he has 0 shape or structure. And I am 20 by the way, so no I am not dealing with young girls.Does Facial Structure even matter in looks? Beauty?
Most of the people here say someone's cute just to be nice. They say all girls are pretty again just to be nice. They have some twisted thought that ';real'; beauty in inside. They don't know beauty refers to how one looks and not how one behaves.Does Facial Structure even matter in looks? Beauty?
Facial Structure has everything to do with looks and beauty especially. Balance of facial features on a facial structure IS what makes beauty. If they're an attractive person, they have a good balance of facial features.
it does actually. imagine someone thats really pretty with a square shaped face, or a diamond shaped face, or a heart shaped face, or an oval shaped face.

they would look a lot different and maybe less pretty
I know many that do go for the structure, but i think the whole personality matters and how you carry it.
i look at features ALL the time. im not attracted to slanted eyes, or thin lips...i like defined jaw lines....
it matters, well it think really handsome guys have a more prominent jaw bone
    er ah yeah probably.

    What the hell...........

    Who even cares?

Just because you like guys to have a strong facial structure, doesn't mean everyone likes what you like.

You know the world exists outside of your opinions..
in my opinion i find facial structure more attractive than just a round face because it makes the person look more manly rather than a young boy.
i think you are bitter because everyone is getting some but you! maybe your personality sucks?

Beauty tips? anything from best eyshadow for blue eyes to facial masks.?

i want to do a little make over on myself not my attitude but my appearence not that i do not like the way i look but it is just getting boring blahh.i am blonde hair to my shoulders and blue eyed. please need advice!!! XXDDDDBeauty tips? anything from best eyshadow for blue eyes to facial masks.?
start with selecting a daily face routine for your skin type: oily/dry/combo,an exfoliant like olay/neutrogena/Ole Hendriksen(use as directed),facial masks are tricky, are you dry or oily?,I use Ole Hendriksen,(sold at sephora's) for combination skin, then follow with a moisturizer preferably one with sunscreen, even if you do not go into the sun. Now, you will choose a foundation, mineral: I suggest Body Shop, they have new mineral makeup with spf 20,not oily/shiny,has perfect coverage and less messy than bare minerals, for liquid: smashbox photo ready,or their tinted moisturizers, they have minerals/vitamins to give your skin that radiant look without being overly madeup,or clinique .Try adding a bronzer, yes even if you are fair

it will give you a little extra oomph! blush? I suggest something natural looking like posie tint by Benefit, its a pink cheek stain, works good on lips too,or tarte has peachy/pink/rosey tints, you choose, blondes can wear anything, for the eyes, blues look best with browns/mauves,try a brown gel liner with a little glitter sprinkled or a sparkling neutral eyeshadow(it will make it less likely to smear) ,try brown mascara,Dior show is great! or Lashblast by covergirl. For the lips, try mixing a lipstick with a tinted lipgloss and make your own unique color. Well, I hope some of this helps ,I could go on %26amp; on.

In yoga Sirsasana will help us to prevent hair falling and improve our facial beauty?

Sirsasana or headstand is also called the King of all Poses because it benefits our entire body and all our systems. It has been said that because there is an increase in blood flow to our head when we are in this inversion, it stimulates the scalp and facial areas as well.

While this makes sense to a certain degree, there are many factors that influence our physical aging such as genetics, lifestyle and diet. Falling hair or baldness are usually inherited or caused by stress; facial features age more rapidly when exposed to sun, or from cigarette smoking and stress, as well as eating unhealthily.

All in all, doing sirsasana will defenitely have its benefits, but it is certainly not a cure-all. Combining a well-balanced and healthy diet, reduced stress, etc. are major contributing factors to our physical beauty and health.

    Facial beauty??

Answer this question honestly please. I have a cleft lip (not palate) and often wonder if people go for just looks or personality. Im not feeling sorry for myself or want any sympathy I just want an honest opinion from you. I know I cant be that ugly as I have been married, divorced and have had plenty of boyfriends and I am now in a loving relationship and have 2 gorgeous girls (who do not have the same problem as me) So please answer my question with as much honesty as you like. Is it looks that you go for in a person?Facial beauty??
For some reason you posted this in the tattoo section. Fist,

I would say that today's beauty conscious society has gotten rather obsessed with appearance.

Second, I am considered an expert in lip tattooing and if you need some blending or your scar in the lip line you can consider cosmetic tattooing - only choose someone very experienced, however. Pros can be found here - http://www.spcp.orgFacial beauty??
Don't do the tattooing until the red is gone...dermatologists have some great ways to get the red out and tattooing really helps the contour of the scar as well as defining the lip border better. As I said, you need a really good epert for it. Good luck. Report Abuse

For me it is not so much looks as *chemistry.* I have been with people who are ridiculously magazine gorgeous and haven't been able to work it out not because of any clash in personality or lack of love, but simple, well, pheromones I s'pose. That was actually the downfall of my last relationship. On the other hand, I've been with partners who are not, let's say, everyone's ';ideal,'; and the chemistry has been off the chain.

If someone's personality and chemistry don't match mine, looks have very little to do with it. At the same time, if you are not attracted to someone physically, it's difficult to be in a relationship with them. All I'm saying is sometimes that attraction has less to do with looks and more to do with unspoken chemistry.
Looks are of course the first thing anyone will notice. We are extremely sight based creatures. Anyone worth calling a friend will go past that, which is what I always try to do, to see the inner beauty that most people have. For me, no matter what a person looks like, I will look into their personality to see what kind of a person they are before I make any decisions as to whether I think they are good bad or indifferent. After all, beauty IS only skin deep!
its a 50/50 thing for me. when u first look at a guy who draws attention to you that you dont know, you think..';wow that guys hot';...but if u find out their scum bags their personality shows and it changes your view on them. thats how it is for me. there are men that i thought were ugly when i first met them that were my friends but as i learned about their personality they became very hansom and attractive men to me. so for me its both personality and physicality to me when it comes to when i first meet people...
Well, at first in most cases, looks are what I notice first. But I mean if somebody is unatractive it's not an automatic deal breaker for me. It's not like I would be with a hot guy who was an a*sshole...I'd say both are important to me, looks are the first impression, but personality keeps me around.
It would be looks first as obviously you see a person before you get to talk to them.

Second would be personality but as you get to know that person you 'see' the whole package. What shines through more for one particular person doesn't for another.
Initially I go for looks, but if the chemistry isn't there it wont work. A beautiful person with an horrible personality is ugly in my eyes, so I think it has to do with who you are, not what you look like.
I think at first, yes its kind of about looks, i mean you have to be attracted to the person to even look at them. But then it turns to personality over time.
you have to use natural organic products for your skin..

does not smoking help my facial skin appearance? i am 28 and have smoked on and off (mostly on) for 10 years. i don't really have wrinkles, but i do have fine lines under my eyes and mild acne. will these go away in time because i quit? what can i do to ';treat myself'; and tyr to get a brighter, younger complexion without spending too much money? thanks!Ok i quit smoking 9 days ago! what beauty treatments can i do to get my facial skin looking fresh?
I quit smoking when I was 28 also (because I was pregnant!). I also smoked on and off for ten years and this time, I have not looked back.

To answer your question... YES smoking causes wrinkles. It have a family member who smokes like a chimney and she has so many more wrinkles than her brothers and sisters who are the same age. She has hundreds of them, lol her face looks leathery. Smoking also causes your teeth to turn yellow (not so nice looking).

There are lots of things that you can do to help your skin now that you have quit.

    For example:

*Green Clay Mask (Aztec Healing Clay from Whole Foods mixed with cider vinegar... done once a week is GREAT for acne and kind of like a natural chemical peel).

*Drink LOTS of water. Make sure you are getting at least the recommended 6-8 glasses per day.

*Rose Hip Tea: buy the loose herbs and prepare a tea. If you don't add sweetener it can count towards your water intake.

*Consider buying a juicer, and maybe even try a juice fast to eliminate toxins.

*Eat more raw fruits and vegetables. Try to eat a rainbow of (raw or steamed) vegetables every day.

*If you have the money, Murad products are great. The acne package (around $60) is great for clearing and brightening your skin without drying. They have different kits for different skin types. ((I can't afford those products any more, lol))

I hope this is somewhat helpful. Congrats on quitting! It feels great, I have noticed that I hardly ever get upper respiratory infections since I have quit (I used to get them all the time).Ok i quit smoking 9 days ago! what beauty treatments can i do to get my facial skin looking fresh?
First you have to observe what type of skin you have either if itssensitiv or iooilyor whatever, then buy a moisturizer that works forit usually Loreal Revitalizing cream will work (available at Rite Aid, CVS, wALGREENS,ETC) then you should try facialtreatmentssuch as avocado facial masks or anything made with vitamins for you skin.

In yoga Sirsasana will help us to prevent hair falling and improve our facial beauty?
yoga is good to relieve stress and promote overall health. I do not think yoga can be directly correlated with hair loss prevention and facial beauty, but yoga is very benefecial! In yoga Sirsasana will help us to prevent hair falling and improve our facial beauty?
It is sure that Sirsasana will help to improve facial beauty. But to prevent hair falling it is better to take help of nature cure doctor.

  • Home facial beauty tips to control oil and have clear skin?

I'm looking for facial beauty tips that I can easily do at home? :) I've heard of stuff like honey and milk, honey and sugar, lemon and egg yolk, etc. Do you have any at-home tips for oil control, and to get rid of any red bumps or blemishes? I really want to get rid of some annoying red bumps that I have on the sides of my nose and on my chin. And I have a lot of blemishes and discoloration....can you help?Home facial beauty tips to control oil and have clear skin?
mix some honey and oatmeal and put it on your face and leave it there for 20 minutes.

    or

get regular fat-free yogurt and spread evenly on your face and leave it in for 15 minutes.

    - I have really clear skin, i think its genetic though, but i use organic face washes, toners, and moisturizers. i get lots of discoloration, and i use a toner for that. orgnaic stuff is alot more expensive though.

do not ever put apples or lemons on your face, it makes your skin alot more vulnerable to the sun, which is very damaging.Home facial beauty tips to control oil and have clear skin?
Depending on your skins natural state,it may be harder to control oil. But for someone with just a quote unquote regular skin tone. Cut down on excess make-up that clogs pores, like liquid foundation. And avoid putting cosmetics on wet skin. When your skin is wet, pores are open, and whatever you put on your face then, will get into your pores, and clog them, causing build up of bacteria and thus breakouts.

I hardly ever have any problems, and I largely believe it is due to the fact that I don't wear make up a whole lot,and when I do,I don't wear a lot. And always put it on a dry face,so it doesn't get deep down and clog things up.

Also a good practice for an even skin tone and reducing discoloration,is using a good sunscreen for the face, always when going outside.

Does using facial cream and beauty product make you skin rely on them?

without these pampering products, will your face be worst than without using them before at allDoes using facial cream and beauty product make you skin rely on them?
Sometimes... but not in the way you think... see most of these product have high mineral oil content which ends up either causing excessive oil production of the skin or lack of oil (everyones response is different) that oil balance can then cause dry or oily skin.

Usually the major cosmetic lines are not petrol based like MAC or Lancome lines..Does using facial cream and beauty product make you skin rely on them?
May be but a good diet for ur face also do. therefore go for certain tips.
i use different kind of products, such as garnier fructis moisturizer for smoothing the skin, proactiv for acne, trublend whipped foundation by covergirl to cover any red spots and undereye circles (its very smooth, blends well, and is just amazing). my skin relys on these products and without them i think my face would be worse.

Are beauty marks/facial moles ugly on a guy?

I have a raised facial mole maybe a centimeter away/over the left side of my lips. It is about the size of this ';O'; and i was just wondering, do u think facial moles are ugly? I was thinking of taking it off because i would feel a lot better with self-esteem. Also, if i have facial hair growing and i take off my mole, resulting in a scar, will there be a blank patch on my face where there is no hair?? because my mole is around my mustache so i don't want to have no hair on a certain place of my mustache. does hair grow back??Are beauty marks/facial moles ugly on a guy?
I wouldnt think it was ugly - it makes you unique and who you are.

But if your shaving the area it might be better to get it removed as if you accidentally cut the mole it may cause problems with it.

If its effecting your self esteem there is noting wrong with you wanting to get it removed.

I had a lump on my temple which was a smal cyst which i hated so much and was so self concious about it - so i got it removed and i felt so much better!

Facials from beauty salon seem to make my face worse?

I got my first facial and my face is breaking out real bad now. its been 5 days since the facial. I got big cyst breakouts on my face. Should I continue or keep goin for the biweekly facials?Facials from beauty salon seem to make my face worse?
Continue. What facials do is bring future breakouts forward, to get rid of them sooner and have more clear skin later. So, just let your face heal, and keep getting them, and your skin will be clear before you know it. Facials from beauty salon seem to make my face worse?
Do you extractions when you see your facialist? ( When she presses on your pores with the little metal tool)

It's common knowledge that this will usually leave your skin blotchy and broken out for a few days. That's why they always say to get your facial done at least 2 days before a big event.

Also, if she's too aggressive, she could also end up forcing some of the pore-clogging junk further into the pore, causing breakouts. Breakouts will also happen if she hasn't properly sanitized the metal tool.

By the way, two times a week is way too often for a facial. The fact that your facialist would even recommend such a thing is a good sign that she either doesn't know what she's doing, or doesn't' care about what is good for your skin and just wants to squeeze as much money out of you as possible.

And also, you are not allergic. An allergic reaction has way more signs and symptoms than a breakout. You would be experiencing full-body hives, shortness of breath, and facial swelling as soon as the product touched your skin.
It is probably because your skin is not used to being so cleansed and opened. I have seen and heard of this happening to heaps of people-- including myself. If you continue at it your skin will eventually get better. And it will be clean.... you should keep going-- stay away from clogy make up and best of all WATER WATER WATER. It is the best skin secret ever AND the cheapest. Just keep drinking that water.
I had that problem.. and I continued going.. bad Idea... turned out I was allergic to the stuff they used... If you want clean pretty skin you should 1. drink lots of water 2. eat right ie. fruits veggies and meats w/ low fat and high protein 3. use saint Ives skin scrub for sensitive skin, and a aveeno cleanser, wash with cold water! And Good luck!
In short, yes you should, a facial brings all of the impurities to the surface to be expelled, you may experience this for a little while but try to persist. Your pores will thank you for it
You need to stop going to the facialist. The substances she is using to cleanse your face, your skin is allergic to it.

Just wash your face daily, and moisturize!
either you're allergic to their products or they're no well sanitize. If you go to different salons maybe its that you have sensitive skin.
You need to see a dermatologist.

Is there any way to get rid of a facial mole/wart? [not beauty mark]?

find a doctor...they remove both...good luck...do not use your pocket knifeIs there any way to get rid of a facial mole/wart? [not beauty mark]?
try pro-active.Is there any way to get rid of a facial mole/wart? [not beauty mark]?
    ';Laser surgery is the best in this situation.';

my friend had one on her face and she got it removed with a laser surgery. she had a dark spot in the place were her mole use to be, but in a few weeks it faded away.
Go to doctor and freeze it off.
they have to be removed by a dr. it is best to see a dermatologist. this dr specializes in skin and it's diseases and disorders and can send the mole (once it's removed) to a lab to have it analyzed (biopsy) to make sure there is no melanoma (skin cancer)
get an appointment to get it removed. i have had 4 of them removed.

How to prevent pimples from cropping up..%26amp; eliminate the existing ones..????Beauty prob..Facial prob..pl help...:)?
Proper cleansing and mask to ensure that the pores are noy clogged.Beauty prob..Facial prob..pl help...:)?
First you need to know what kind of skin type you have. If you have oily skin, you need oil-free products, or they will just make it worse. If you have dry skin, get something that says it won't clog your pores. A good soap and astringent routine will probably do some good. Wash and cleanse in the morning and before you go to bed.

Diet also has a lot to do with how your skin looks. Drink lots of water and avoid sweets. They make you break out. Also, stress can be a face-killer.

    Good luck!
I've been having the same problem after having a baby - seems like my hormones are everywhere. I've just started to use Fresh Farmacy by Lush - it's a soap bar, follwed by their Tea Tree Cleanser and I can see a difference already - try it x
The best thing for your skin is to drink plenty of water and use a mild soap and wash your face daily. If a pimple should crop up put a dab of toothpaste on it for about 15-30 minutes and it dries it out pretty fast.
I recommend using a tea tree soap bar twice a day. Then after apply Tea Tree Oil. It is natural and the oil is an antiseptic so it kills germs on your skin. It doesn’t dry out my face or clog pores. I have been using it for a few months and my skin is 100% different. Make sure you use it everyday. You will see results in a week. You can buy it at health stores and one brand I use is “Thursday Plantation”. It is about 15$. I highly recommend this practice. It really works and is good for your skin! :) Good luck

Does having a facial by the beauty therapist help ur skin glow? Does it help blemishes and appearence of skin?

Getting a facial every three months clears your pores and does make your skin glow. You can do the facial yourself or have a professional do it. I prefer a professional. It is nice to be pampered once in a while. There are a variety of facials so pick a mild one for your first time to see how your skin reacts.

I had a minor acne problem about two years ago. I was using everything to try to clear my skin. It only made it worse. I was gifted a spa facial for Christmas and asked the professional what I should do. After taking her advice my skin is beautiful and acne free. She told me what to use based on my skin type. If you can afford to get a facial ( $60-$75) once to help your skin for years I would go for it.Does having a facial by the beauty therapist help ur skin glow? Does it help blemishes and appearence of skin?
I think so. A good facialist really can help you achieve better skin. Find one through referrals.

I'd avoid really, low cost ones because they usually try to push products or buying a set of treatments to make up the difference.Does having a facial by the beauty therapist help ur skin glow? Does it help blemishes and appearence of skin?
Want your skin to glow? Just get some baby oil and rub it on your face.
it does help your skin glow and make your skin better if you get it from someone reputable. I would say less than %50 of professional facial will give you more acne and wors than better.

Another thing is that you should get it often. around once a month.

Good luck finding a good facialist
Nope you can do it at home and get the same results but doing to often can dry your skin out and some even take the glow away

Black lips are someties caused by smoking.. one way to reduce darkness is by aplying almond oil or beetroot juice at night. if you ar a guy it's better you apply almond oil only.

you could apply beetroot juice mixed with vaseline and leave overnight
you don't need to change the color of your lips....try to imagine you doing a something that might change your lips color....suddenly, there a mistake happen...your lips will be worst then before...[[do you want your lips happen like that??]]

Have you ever tried Oil of Olay facial beauty bar?

Last year I bought two bars, and have really liked this product. They came in a burgundy box. The bar itself was pink with exfoliate beads. I don't recall the specific name other than it was Oil of Olay, an anti aging beauty bar for the face. I cannot find it now. I wondered if anyone else has used it and can no longer find it as well. I checked Oil of Olay website and cannot find the product. In case it is no longer on the market, what facial cleanser do you recommend for ages 50+ for removal of makeup and will moisturize nicely without clogging pores?Have you ever tried Oil of Olay facial beauty bar?
A hundred years ago I tried Oil of Olay, and my doctors called it Oil of Acne. I am wondering if you were using the Dove 50+ soap? I am too lazy to open the box that I just found and placed in the bathroom at the ery far end of the house...

Okay, I went to the bathroom, but I don't know where I put it. (nothing logical) Anyway, I am sure that you got Dove. I bought it when I wanted to be one of those lovely descreetly nude, full figure woman model. Then I decided God wouldn't like that. So, I was uses the products, but keeping my body to myself!

I hope this helps.Have you ever tried Oil of Olay facial beauty bar?
Jackie Blue, I have always used just plain Dove bar soap on my entire body, including my face. No special treatment. I drink a lot of water %26amp; my Dr. said my skin shows I am well hydrated.-- What you are speaking of sounds good. I would try a bar with beads in it, if recommend. A long long time ago when I was younger, I used Helena Rubinstine scrubbing beads on my face occasionaly. For some reason we no longer get her products in the usa. She had the best lipstick. It was almost smooch proof. lol
Waste of time on my skin dear. The problems have only got worse, since my visits to a local tanning factory, (experts on leather) were ended due to it,s closure. These days my missus just tries to iron out the wrinkles, and we have broken 3 ironing boards up to now.
Sorry, not familiar with that product. Have you ever tried makeupalley.com ? I use that website sometimes when I want to research a beauty product. There are usually a ton of reviews there. You can go on there and research cleansers - even if you don't have the name of a specific one...you can just see which one has the best reviews. You can also narrow your results by age if you want to see the most popular one in a particular age group. Good luck.

**found a link, here is the most reviewed cleansers for the 44-55 age group**

    http://www.makeupalley.com/product/brows鈥?/a>

    hopefully the link works...

by the way...I don't mean to sound like an advertisement either - I just use this website sometimes
As Trex Mermaid said, you may be mistaking the brand for another one. I myself have never heard of Olay putting out an exfoliative beauty bar, but then again I am in Oz and different country's have different lines.

I have always used Oil of Olay/Ulan (since I was 12)and have been very happy with the brand and never had clogged pores.

Olay make a range of products to suit different age groups and recently they came up with a site that helps the customer work out the products suitable for their skin and age.

I hate to sound like an advertisement but here is their link :

    http://www.rightolayforyou.com.au/home/i鈥?/a>

I hope that works out, I copied and pasted it from my browser window. If it doesn't I am sure just : www.rightolayforyou.com.au should get you to the site.

Is it possible having an hiv from a facial in a beauty salon?

This morning I went to a beauty salon with my families. I never go there but my relative has. The thing is : It turned out to be very dirty, and some ho's are doing botox etc to their faces there(eww).

I didnt know many hoes are there because I arrived in the morning , right after the salon open. And I know that it is my fault not to cancel my facial.

Now I am afraid that the doctor is using not so clean tools to do facial to my face. She used a metal tool to press my face. And my face were bleed-ed. I am very scared that it will transform any germs to my face.

helpIs it possible having an hiv from a facial in a beauty salon?
Doctors don't normally do facials. Are you sure it was an actual doctor? If so, he should know better. Then again, by the sounds of it, it's hard to say where in the world you really were.

First of all, I would report this place to the cosmetology licensing board and your local health department. Next, get a baseline test for several things, such as hepatitis B and HIV.

Most of all, next time you are in that type of situation, say ';no thank you'; to any type of treatment or procedure.

(Not sure how you decided these people were all ';hoes';, but okay.

Stay out of nasty places such as this.Is it possible having an hiv from a facial in a beauty salon?
    Hi,

You shouldn鈥檛 be worried. HIV is not known to spread by such unlikely routes. So relax and take care. For more information visit-
Please do some research before you ask these kind of questions. HIV is not spread this way and there has never been a reported case.

Get waxed. Don't shave. Plucking takes too long. Bleaching only makes it more noticeable. Waxing is affordable and it takes at least 4-6 weeks to grow back. If it is just ';peach fuzz'; you probably won't even notice it growing back. After 5 weeks, make another appointment to get waxed. Don't do it yourself! The more you wax, the finer the hairs will grow in.

Good luck!Girls! beauty help! please with facial...
    Just leave it alone!

    Please... for your own good.

I had the same problem and learned the hard way that i should have left it alone.

If you do anything it will grow back darker... no matterwhat people say. and if for some reason it ever gets darker you can bleach it but i wouldnt remove it.

    Hope I Helped %26lt;3.
leave it . unless it is like brown or black or worrying you , then you can wax it , but i say leave it alone .

that problem is more common than you think ... the face is made of skin afterall
Waxing hurts alot for peach fuzz u should get a electrics shaver no biggie for that or when u get ur wx done get threadin
Use upper lip cream to get rid of it! They have one by Nair that is for sensitive skin so it is extra gentle.
    leave it alone!!

If it gets thicker/darker wax it or pluck it but DONT shave!!! it leaves stubble!! eww no girl wants that!
Get it threaded like you would with your eyebrows
    use tweezers or wax.
get one of those trimmmer things or get it waxed
i think u can get laser hair removal so it wont grow back

    What the hell...........

    Who even cares?

Just because you like guys to have a strong facial structure, doesn't mean everyone likes what you like.

You know the world exists outside of your opinions..
in my opinion i find facial structure more attractive than just a round face because it makes the person look more manly rather than a young boy.
i think you are bitter because everyone is getting some but you! maybe your personality sucks?
I can't stand really chizzled men.

Is the a universal concept of facial beauty (science-based)?

Like big eyes....Is the a universal concept of facial beauty (science-based)?
There is absolute beauty and there is universal human attractiveness,

    which are not the same.

The simpler concept of the 2 is universal human attractiveness.

Universal human attractiveness is based upon evolution-derived

preferences that are common to all humans. The preferred traits

are in some way beneficial to survival and prosperity, though not

    always in obvious ways.

The preferred facial traits in males are:

    1. a wide, robust jaw

    2. a bony nose

    3. thick eyebrows

The preferred facial traits in females are:

    1. eyes that are large and far apart

    2. large flesh of the upper cheeks

    3. projecting lips

The universal human attractive traits of males are beneficial to the

functions of hunting and fighting. The universal human attractive traits

of females are beneficial to the functions of creating and caring for

children. Eyes that are large and far apart serve to enhance night

vision (such as in caves). The average female has better night vision

than the average male. Males can not have large eyes because they

    are too vulnerable to damage.

Absolute beauty is the abstract mathematical trait of fineness, which

can apply to anything visual (and audio as well), not just humans.

Traits of fineness do occur in some humans, both in the faces and in

the bodies. Such traits include square, rectangular, and right-triangular

geometrical forms, mathematical proportions (such as 1-to-1),

convolutions, smallness of terminal areas, fractals, and textures.

The opposite property to fine beauty is crude vulgarity. As with fineness,

crudeness is an abstract mathematical trait that can apply to anything

visual or audio, and, like beauty, it often occurs in human faces and

bodies. Such traits include convexity, and largeness of terminal areas.

The occurrence of the traits of beauty and vulgarity in human forms is

the result of the preferences of the population, and those preferences

are determined by their character traits (i.e. if their mindset is fine or

crude). Character is in turn determined by the evolutionary psychological

effect of a particular environment. Is the a universal concept of facial beauty (science-based)?
I have heard about a study that found that the big difference is the mouth.

They asked people to rate pictures of faves according to how beautiful they were, and they changed the features with a computer. The big difference was when they changed the mouth.

People will say eyes but they really look unconsciously at the mouth shape.
Humans have been shown to have a preference for symmetry.
No. Humans were attracted to the people that they thought were beautiful since the beginning of time.
I heard that one criterion is the pentagon shaped face.

most people find nearly regular pentagon shaped faces as beautiful. Pentagons have close connection to golden ratio.

(sqrt(5)-1 /2 -?). The trigonometric values of a regular pentagon consists of this magic number. This ratio is seen in ancient buildings (length/breadth)
